Walking in Peace

Read Galatians 5:22-23 with Philippians 4:1-9

Peace is a sought after commodity in our world, yet the Lord declares that the ungodly will not know the way of peace. That is because, like love and joy, peace originates with God. Jesus the Prince of peace, the Father, the God of peace, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of peace - it flows from God, and apart from Christ we cannot know peace in our life. Listen, as we hear God shwoing us the path of peace in our life.

Psalm 125 -The LORD Surrounds His People

Read Psalm 125

Psalm 125 reveals the Christian's great source of assurance in troubled times - the LORD surrounds his people with his persevering grace, goodness and peace. We are apt, not just to lose heart and feel like giving up; but even more to reaching out our hand to iniquity because of the way evil oppresses our soul. But the Lord Jesus perseveres in his grace toward us, bringing forth good in our troubled times, and faithfully ensuring that the good work he has begun in our life will be completed. Jesus is our peace.

Psalm 122 - The Joy of the Church

Read Psalm 122

Jerusalem is viewed in the New Testament as the infant type of the Church of Christ [Gal.4:25-26; Heb.12:22-24; Rev.21]. This Psalm expresses the real joy, glory and peace believers are to find in the church of Christ, as they make their journey to eternal glory. How precious the church is purposed to be to us in our weary travels; how important the Church is each Lord's Day when we gather together to worship and find our peace in Christ.
