Does Your Faith Rest in Christ Or Feelings?

Read Psalm 77 with Romans 8:28-39

We continue our journey through the Psalms of Asaph [73-83], looking at Psalm 77 and the struggles many Christians face with depression. This psalm examines the difficult descent into depression where the soul loses comfort in the Lord God, where God’s love and goodness is questioned. But Asaph does not leave us in that pit; he leads us in the journey to the God of all consolation - the Lord Jesus, where we see the love of God demonstrated, and we trust in the Shepherd of our souls.

The Majesty of God's Wrath

Read Revelation 19:11-16 with Psalm 76

These Psalms of Asaph [Psalm 73 - 83] deal with hard questions that often perplex Christians. In Psalm 76 the implied question is, “Why does God permit his church and people to be so persecuted by the enemy?” In response, God reveals to us the majesty of his wrath that will bring about deliverance for the meek.

The Way of the Righteous

Read Ephesians 6:10-20 with Psalm 1

This sermon is bridging two series: the one just complete on Walking in the Spirit and the place of the Fruit of the Spirit; and the one now beginning on Standing in the Lord and the Armour of the Spirit, from Ephesians 6:10-20. This Psalm holds God's intent for his people being "Happy Christians" who glorify him and enjoy him forever.
